A disappointing call for change

This article by former Libyan prime minister Abd Al-Hamid Al-Bakkoush looked to be promising in terms of a level-headed Arab crying out for great reforms in the Arab world.  Even though he is arguing for good changes in the Arab world, his ultimate goal in bringing about these changes is to “make us an equal rival, capable of confronting [Israel].”

Do Arabs know nothing other than hatred of the Jews?!  It’s so all-encompassing for them.  Their lives revolve around it.  In the same paragraph as the above quote, Al-Bakkoush says, “Have we not been quarrelling with Israel for 50 years or more, with burning tongues and throats of fire? [We do this] without considering that what we are doing is, in effect, [preoccupation] with the ‘other’.” Preoccupation doesn’t go far enough in trying to describe the deep hatred the Arabs have towards the Jews.  It’s evil.
