There’s not much going on that’s really worth mentioning. Things are quiet here. The news is still the same ol’ stuff.
I think Lance Armstrong is doing a great job shooting for his record-tying 5th Tour de France win. He was very impressive in today’s stage. Falling like that and then returning to crush his rivals. Impressive.
I think it’s ridiculous the amount of media coverage Jessica Lynch is receiving. You’d think she single-handedly overthrew Saddam before finally being captured. I’m sure what she went through was very scary, but it’s not as newsworthy as all the channels are making it out to be.
The fact that at least one soldier is dying every day over in Iraq is unsettling. It’s quite obvious now that the soldiers are unprepared for keeping the peace. But then again, it was almost the exact same situation with Japan and Germany. There were riots, no or little power and water, etc. Hopefully we can rebuild Iraq MUCH faster than Japan and Germany.
Not much else to talk about right now.
The news of Uday and Qusay’s deaths was really good news. I was hoping they would find them and Saddam sometime soon. Two out of three isn’t bad! Now for Saddam!
The Iraqi who gave the US that info is going to be one rich man soon. $30 million dollars rich, to be precise. Smart man. Hmm… let’s see. I can either continue to protect Saddam’s butcher kids and live in poverty and fear or I can turn them in and get $30 million US dollars. Tough choice.
I was getting a bit tired of all the coverage Jessica Lynch was getting too. It was a great morale boost to the troops and the American public when she was rescued, but it’s now getting ridiculous.
I turned on CNN earlier today, only to see live coverage of her homecoming interrupted by news that the Son’s of bitc…., er.. Son’s of Saddam had been killed in a 4 hour gunbattle with US troops. Now that’s a story.
