A Record Game of Uno

I’m sure just about everyone knows the card game of Uno. It’s one of those games you play when family and friends come over. You had better hope there’s no animosity between people sitting next to each other because Uno seems to bring it out. At least in my circle of relations and acquaintances.
Normally, I bite at Uno. Large. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always come in last or second to last. I don’t know why. I usually win a few rounds, but it seems like I get more Draw Fours and Draw Twos played on me than anyone else.
Two of my cousins from Austin drove up for the weekend, so tonight we decided we’d play Uno with my parents. Early on I got caught with a fistful of pain and figured I would end up last as usual. However, after only a couple rounds, I began kicking some serious butt. It seemed like I always had the right card when I needed it. Even if I didn’t go out first in the round, I would only get caught with a few low cards.
By the end of the game, we had played 20 rounds, and I had won 11 of them! In the last 9 rounds, I only gained 13 points! That’s some kind of record, I think. It is for me, at least. Second place was over 100 points behind me, and third was almost 100 behind them.
For the record, here’s how it panned out for me:

So I’m basking in the warmth of actually winning at Uno. I don’t expect it to happen again anytime soon, so I’ve got to enjoy it while I can.

I have no memory of how to play Uno. I seriously think that the last time I played it, was in Austin over 20 years ago.
