Today is J.R.R. Tolkien’s birthday. And it’s not just any birthday… it’s his “eleventy-first" birthday! What can someone say about a man that has done so much to inspire people’s imaginations and dreams? A toast… to “The Professor”.

I guess I am really missing the boat here on this whole LOTR thing.
Part one came out on DVD and we watched it on our TV. About one hour into the movie, it was boring me so much, that I fell asleep. Last week I took my wife to see the second part, and for the first time in my life, I fell asleep in the theater! If it wasn’t for the stunning special effects and great cinematography, I would have for sure slipped into a coma.
My wife loves the whole LOTR thing, and she says that I just am not the type of person that is able to relate to fantasy. She also thought it was very sweet of me to take her to the movie knowing full well it would bore the hell out of me.
Go ahead, flame me, ridicule me, make fun of me, everyone else is…. I’m used to it by now.
