Aerial Atlas

This is amazing, but in a scary, freaky kind of way.  I just discovered a site called GlobeXplorer that has aerial photographs of the entire continental US!  I figured I’d see if they had pictures of our place, since we’re so far out in the boonies, and they did.  I could zoom close enough to easily recognize all our trees, my dad’s shop, the house, our outbuildings and old barn.  I then tried several other addresses from both my childhood and my dad’s childhood, and they had detailed, color pictures of everything.

It’s cool, but kind of scary.  This is amazing technology to me, but it’s open to the public.  I can only imagine the military has imagery that is MUCH more detailed now.  If that’s true, then they should be able to surmize how tall I would be from a picture over our house.  That’s where it gets scary.
