I mentioned in my last post that there wasn’t much in the last several weeks worth writing about, which was true. I found something today that’s definitely worth writing about. It’s a story and a video about a father and his disabled son.
I found it on Digg today, and it has nearly 3000 diggs already. That’s one of the highest counts I’ve ever seen there. And from reading the comments, I saw that most people who watched the video had the same reaction I did… crying like a little girl.
If you read the story and watch the video, have some tissues nearby because you’re going to need them. Like one of the comments on Digg mentioned, your “eyes will be sweating” before the video is even over.
I wish Dick Hoyt and his son were the norm instead of the exception. The world would be a much better place then.
I’m glad that my son is not disabled and still I hope that I would be able in similar situation become a good father for him as well. My son now has the same interests (races) as I do and that’s why we spend so much time together.
Although the video didn’t have much of an emotional effect on me, I was extremely impressed Mr Hoyt’s dedication to his son. He has definitely raised the bar to a new high, for fathers the world over.
