Ashcroft Making More Mistakes

The Justice Department has lifted a requirement that all new information submitted to the FBI‘s criminal database be “accurate, relevant, timely and complete”.  Critics had a few things to say…

The system “is replete with inaccurate, untimely information, but everybody does their best to keep it up to date,” said Beryl Howell, former general counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee. “That’s a goal we shouldn’t just throw out.”

I absolutely agree with that.

It (Justice Department) added that, because the system collects its data from so many other organizations, “it is administratively impossible to ensure compliance.”

Oh, excellent!  So because the system is so flawed to begin with, we decided we would not only NOT fix it, we wouldn’t even TRY to make sure the data is correct.  That is ridiculous!  I’ve lost what little confidence I had in Ashcroft now.

I knew this will burn some ears and step on some toes, but Ashcroft lost my vote of confidence when I found out he was a Pentecostal. Our government is screwed up enough as it is, it doesn’t need THAT added to the mix.
