Because my business is the Web, I spend a LOT of time on it. Over time, I’ve registered at tons of different sites. Some sites allow you to make your own username and password, others don’t. Trying to remember every single username/password combination would be impossible. There are several decent password storage applications that use different types of encryption. I’ve tried out 4 different ones, but ended up buying PasswordMaster X by Maury at RAILhead Design. It’s a very well thought out and executed application. Not only does it store username/password combos, but also software serial numbers. On top of that, if you’re a software developer or a network admin, you can enter in a person’s name and have PasswordMaster X generate passwords/serial numbers for you! PasswordMaster X is very much worth its $9.95 price tag. |
If you have any sort of a life, you’re going to have things to do. Or perhaps you’re wanting to keep track of some songs you’ve been meaning to download, but keep forgetting. OmniOutliner is an excellent application made by the long time Cocoa developers OmniGroup. These are the guys who also make OmniWeb and OmniGraffle, two other excellent applications. Every application that OmniGroup makes is a pleasure to see and use. OmniOutliner is no exception. Very easy to use and chocked full of features, OmniOutliner is a steal at $29.95. The latest version adds support for importing OPML files plus a few other goodies. |
Once again, check back tomorrow for two more useful utilities.
