Casshern

I’m not quite sure what it’s about, but this Japanese movie looks pretty good!  It’s called Casshern.  It has some really well-done special effects and the story looks interesting.  It looks like a live-action anime, in the vein of The Matrix.  Lots of close-ups, combinations of quick- and slow-motion action shots, futuristic scenes and machines, etc.

I’m not sure if it will be sub-titled in English or even be released here in the US.  I hope it is released here though.  I like some anime like Ghost in the Machine and Animatrix.  And I loved The Matrix, which was heavily influenced by anime.  If this is anywhere near as good as the first Matrix, then it will be worth buying.

Yeah, it does look rather cool, doesn’t it? It’s apparently based off of an old Japanese anime series. We had a decent discussion about it on a site I help run.
