After seeing the latest edition of Rides, I thought I’d go check out the site of my favorite hot rod designer, Chip Foose. The last time I checked in on the site, it was still under construction. Well, it’s now up and running and looks pretty good.
Chip makes some of the sweetest hot rods I’ve ever seen. And he’s won numerous awards for those hot rods too. The car above is called the Grandmaster, and it’s considered by many to be the perfect hot rod. It’s won many awards including the big one, the Ridler.
I would LOVE for him to work on my car, but know that won’t happen. He’s probably got at least 5 cars he’s working hard on all the time.
wish you could do something to my 1977 chevy surban im so tired of it looking bad that everyone laugh at it and me when driving. i would work for you for a year if you would just paint it for me . i love your show chip. i watch i all in the wee hours of the day . oh my truck name is sister moonshine from supertramp. anyway thanks for your show.,love grace

My mother Tammy Bobb has a 1995 dodge caravan that she has had since 95 to take my brother from Newville, Pa-Hershey, Pa almost everyday for about 3 years to see the doctors at the hospital. Than she would have to run him about 3 days a week to therapy in Campill, Pa. She still has it, and she having a hard tie departing with it because it holds sentimental memories. She still takes him to Hershey and speech class today. He is 13 years old now and will never be able to do what my brother or sister and I will. MY brother has a vehicle that my mom drives to take him places now. But the point Is that my mother is battling cancer for the pass 2 years. That is way I’m trying to get my mother’s van Over Hauled. Thank you for your time: Scott Bobb
What I consider the defining difference between Boyd and Chip is how their employees see and react to them. It seems that Boyd might have forgotten where he started because of the rough times he has weathered. From time to time you have rare glimpses into the fun loving Boyd (which he might consider the reason for past business failures). Chip does not seem as jaded and still acts like a Car Guy. Chip’s men are willing to work crazy hours without complaining because he goes right into the trenches with them, he still loves what he does. Boyd, on the other hand, no longer puts in the hours. He is more of a boss like the rest of us in the world have, and there is nothing wrong with that because he has paid his dues.
As far as work product, any of us that is ever lucky enough to own any product produced by either of these men would most likely consider it their prize possession (I know I would).
But I respect and admire Chip Foose for more reasons than that. After watching Overhaulin’, I noticed the close relationship between Chip and his father. Using their relationship as a model (and cars as a catalyst) I purchased a 68 Mustang for my ever-distant 15 year old son. Over the next year and a half, my son and I completely rebuilt the car. His example helped me bond with a son who says that before the car he always felt distant from me. Chip was in Detroit this past Sunday at Autorama and I wanted to go and thank him in person, but was unable. I do someday wish to meet him and thank him.
Chip you do a stand up jpb, I just wish i could do what you do to my ole mini van, lol Yeah I have a 95 windstrar and wish i could do the work it needs .. Hello this message is for mr chip. I am a prior fan of his work but extremly not impressed and not a fan anymore. I sent a copy of some concept car art around 5 years ago of a modernized 1969 camaro rs with no responce. All I wanted was his opinion of what was thought of my concept with no responce but what realy pisses me of is that four years later out of all the old musle cars they come out with they come out with the old camero concept go figure. everyone that knows my concept art going back 12 years are quite amazed how on the ball I am with my concepts. There are people that know my concept art and dont think to highly that I never had any responce whats so ever but out of all the musle cars why in the world did it have to be the camero when it was one of the concepts I trusted to expose why couldnt it of been something else but any ways there are just a bunch of lame designers with no talent of there own to come up with their own designs. They steal other designs and expect the credit but anyways I am done with my bitching and have alot of other concepts which will not be exposed for example a 69 firebird, 68 gto gudge, 57 chevrolet, etc ps. I think the auto concepts today are lame and look too foreign. I would doubt that chip is a real two faced dick.
QUE BUENA MIERDA..
