Custom Choppers

It seems like custom choppers are all the rage now, especially with the popularity of shows like Orange County Choppers and West Coast Choppers.  They crank out some very expensive, very custom choppers for all kinds of clients, including famous ones like Shaq, Goldberg and Kidd Rock.

I have to admit, there’s not too many choppers from those shops that I like.  At least none that have been shown on their shows.  That said, there are some amazingly beautiful choppers out there.

Below are a few pictures of some choppers I really like.  The one on the bottom is my all-time favorite chopper.  Every time I see it, it impresses me more.  It’s just motorcycle perfection, in my opinion.

Who’s the builder of that first bike, the one in the b&w pic? I’d have to say that is really nice.

Chris's gravatar Chris United States December 29, 2005

Not sure who the builder is. I agree, it’s a great bike. If anyone has an idea of who built it, please share.

You’re correct, Bret. The purple one is called Purple Gangsta and the orange one is called TrendKill. Both are awesome bikes.

I can’t really tell you anyhting about the first three bikes, but I can tell you about the last three. The hubless bike was built by Billy Lane and it was the first of its kind. He used the rotor bearing from a helicopter and the bike has a chain drive instead of a belt drive. If you feel like checking it out go to www.choppersinc.com The last two are Martin Bros. customs. I don’t remember their site off the top of my head, but you can always use a search engine and type in Martin Bros. and the website name shoul;d be somewhere at the top of the list.

How can I have this motorcycles???
I wait for you answer

Chris's gravatar Chris United States September 9, 2006

You’d have to buy a chopper from the places that make them. Places like Orange County Choppers, Matt Hotch, Martin Brothers, etc.

Start saving up your money too, because they’re not cheap.

Russ, you mentioned you liked the first bike, but I didn’t know who made it until now. It’s a German bike builder named Marcus Walz. His company is called Hardcore and they make a ton of awesome bikes. He was just featured in the Discovery Channel’s latest biker build-off and he won.

All of his bikes have that distinctive style like the first one, so I’ll bet you’d like his other stuff. There are several of his I really, really like.

Another great builder I’ve never heard of who has amazingly nice bikes is Roger Goldammer. That fire-engine red bike is just sick!

Chris's gravatar Chris United States March 4, 2007

I’m not sure who made bike #2. I think it was used in a movie, but I can’t remember which one off the top of my head.

In American Iron Magazine, June 2008, pages 94-95. The exhaust on that bike is a Martin brothers design, inwhich I’m interested in buying for my 1996, softail custom. Could some body help me out in locating the web site I can go to to find out more information about these exhaust systems. thanks.
