David Robinson

I remember when David Robinson was the rookie of the year.  There was just something about him… you had to like him.  He’s one of those guys that you respect because of his character, not just his talent.

To watch him win the NBA championship tonight along with the amazing Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs, on his last game, at his home stadium in front of all those fans, on Father’s Day with his dad in the crowd… their can’t be a better ending to a career than that.  And he played great, not only in this game, but the whole series.  He wanted it.

So congratulations to you, David Robinson, on a great win and a great career.  I hope to see you stick around as a coach or manager or something.  The NBA needs people like you.
