eBay Sucks Ass!

I hate eBay with a passion right now.  In an earlier post, I had mentioned I was looking to find a copy of Oni for the Mac.  Well, I did some searching and finally found one copy of it for auction on eBay.  That was four days ago.  I’ve been watching it every day since then.  The bidding never got high, so I saw my chance to get myself a copy of it for real cheap.  I logged in with only a few minutes left and kept reloading the page until I saw there was 1 minute left in the auction.  I entered in my bid, which would’ve been the winning one, but instead of seeing a “Congratulations!  You’re the winning bidder!”, I saw a #$(*@ login screen asking me for my *%(*&# password!  I paniced.  I entered in my password and hit submit, but instead of submitting my password, it brought me to some dumbass page with a link back to the item!  By the time I FINALLY got back to the auction, time was up!

Needless to say I let loose a few choice words.  I’m still very pissed about it.  I’m getting angry again writing about it.  Why did eBay need my %#*&# password if I was already logged in!?!?!

Now I’ve got to go scouring the Web again trying to find a copy.  There are no other Mac copies on eBay.  I can’t find any stores still selling it.  The folks at OmniGroup won’t sell me a copy.  So I’m screwed.  And I have eBay to thank.

I’ve heard enough. Fred, this isn’t a political thread, so don’t start spouting your amazingly over-generalized crap here. Keep it on topic.

i discovered another little thing to hate about eBay

I wanted to leave negative feedback about someone who is selling Pink Floyd concert DVDs, and I received them today and while they are DVD’s, they have really lousy video on them – obviously this person got a bad copy of a real show and its 1000 generations down in the copy tree….

well – I tried to post negative feedback, and using Safari as a browser, ebay would not let me leave the negative feedback – it kept asking me if I wanted to leave it and I would ciick OK, and end up back where I started, so I finally had to move to EI to post the feedback

and I am not continuing Freds post, but….

I realize that eBay is sort of an open field for anyone to sell anything, but clearly what this person is selling/promoting is NOT what I expected to receive, but clearly eBAY doesnt care what people sell…..

Ebay does sucK! my whole life became ebay. I am a stay at home mom that started a home ebay buisness. What a mistake. I reached a feedback of 37 after three months and was suspended because I listed two High cost items (fendi & gucci). Ebay just shut me down. The items were real with Tags. Why did this happen to me? My husband had faith in me to make ebay work, and to pay some of our bills. What am I going to do now? I tried some of the other Auction sites. They have no traffic. I am joining a class action suit against ebay. I hope that my situation matters enough to be included in the case. I am not going to lie I miss it there and will try to get back on with some of the advice listed above. But I will never trust or recommend ebay again. I have been snowed. We all have. Diva

Yes ebay and paypal both suck!!!! heres my story
On Dec 14th, I was outbid on this item on ebay. On Dec 15th, I received a second chance offer from ebay messages originated by the seller, Brian Dovzak. When I went to accept the offer link, it said that the auction had ended at sellers request. I contacted him by phone and he said to send the payment and ebay ID # through his email address which I did thru paypal thinking I was protected. He was to ship it next day on the 16th via USPS overnight mail. On the 20th I called to tell him I had not received it. He said there was some confusion on my item and that it had now been shipped. On Dec 21st I received a package with an empty ring box, via usps. When I contacted the seller he said he had heard of items being stolen by the post office this time of year and that is what must have happened. However, upon doing further investigation through ebay members on mY OWN, I contacted the original winning bidder of the auction. She said she paid for and received the antique ring, which was supposedly a ring from the 1940’s from someone dead grandmothers estate sale. Ebay will not help me, because they said this was done outside ebay on a second chance offer. When I confronted the seller about having contacted the original bidder, he said he had two of the same items (fat chance from the 1940’s) and that the post office did indeed steal it and he was not responsible. I have now received confirmation that he tried this scam on others also, that being selling the same item multiple times. I have documentation from the winning bidder as well as payment confirmation on the item that I also paid for. Both
ebay and Paypal send you in circles with canned emailed respones and no customer service whatsoever. BUYERS BEWARE DO NOT ACCEPT SECOND CHANCE OFFERS!!!

Diva

did you speak to anyone at ebay (not holding my breath) and did they give you a reason for doing this (again not holding my breath….)

Diva's gravatar Diva United States January 6, 2006

You can not speak to anyone at ebay. There is no number to call. If you call the main office they ask you, how did you got this number and tell you must ask your questions via email. They gave me reason through email saying that I was suspended for section 9 of the user agreement -“abusing ebay”. They would not tell me anything else. So I searched the net and found that thousands are suspended under section 9, but all for different reasons. The real reason I got suspended was because ebay has certian red flags that go up when you list to many items, or your items are too expensive and if they are high end products(gucci, fendi,LV. ect.), if you are a new person with low feedback. I am going to go to thearpy starting next week. One because I really need after ebay and it can only help me get on that class action lawsuit. Good luck to all those who think that you will not be suspended one day. It will only be a matter of time. eBay sucks ass! Diva

I sat on a civil trial as a juror where the plaintiff and her slimeball lawyer tried the “therapy” trick. I stood my ground and sided with the defendant for that sole reason.
Ebay has no live customer service for a reason. Their fees would triple. Can you imagine how many phone calls they would have when someone needs help inserting a picture or asking what price they should start at, etc etc etc. Having an Ebay account is not a right you are born with. I am sure you are not giving the full story. You need to be a licensed merchant to sell brands like gucci. You are not allowed to sell ANYTHING gucci on ebay because of counterfeiters. If you want to sell brands like that, you must prove it’s not junk from china and buy it from a gucci distributor and sell it in a proper retail location. Im sure you were warned at least once before ebay kicked you off, so stop whining. By the way, i think ebay sucks ass, but not for the reasons people like you do.

Diva's gravatar Diva United States January 7, 2006

Oh Paul Please. You know nothing about me or my situation. ebay gave me NO WARNING. I alwaIys paid my fees before they were due. I had a 100% feedback and never any problems with any buyer. I was in ebay heaven and told everyone about it. My income was growing every month. And then one day I just no longer exsited. Are you telling me that I don’t have a right to ask a real person why. Paul Please. I have never sued anyone in my life and never planed to. I have gone to thearpy other times in my life when I was feeling down and could not get past it. So yes I am going to get some help because if I don’t snap out of this slump my son is going to feel it. if it helps me against ebay that is good too.

I should have known all the rules but I did not. That is my fault. but I thought if you owned the item this would not be a problem and I was wrong. But ebay is a hundred times more wrong. And your day will come paul like so many suckers before you. Including myself. Diva.

Hey DIOR, What country did you invade america from, And would you please go back ! I have contacted ebay about several issues over the years and they don`t seem to have any american employees except meg whitman .Why don`t they quit Kicking people off for petty little things and no one will complain about them . Everyone on here has been removed for little things that should not have been . If someone did something wrong the punishment should fit the offense with a certain time served as suspension. If a person gets a speeding ticket they don`t lose their licence for life , It`s normal human behavior for people to disagree and have little things happen. If ebay would treat humans humanely they would get more respect. After a resonable suspension for a certain offense. Some may not come back at all but many would return and adjust their practices so it would not happen again and be better ebayers, learn a lesson . You folks at ebay need to run your business as one created by humans for humans and quit giving robot responses for real human problems .Come up with resonable penalties for offenses and tell us up front what we did to get removed and how long the penalty is upfront. Then your customer support teams will spend less time dealing with repeat email questions and questions like why am i suspended. If i would have gotten a warning not to contact member . The email arguement with other member would not have escalated to the point of suspension . Is DIOR a chicks name ? Or a guys? It sounds like a GIRLYMANS NAME. Hey chris ,is this person accessing this forum from a ebay owned email address or is HE/HER just a pretending joker ? You see this info : KEEP US INFORMED ! Opinions expessed by me are not nessasarily the opinion of all posters !

Kevin, Dior is a personal friend of mine who lives in Germany and happens to work for eBay there. You can bad-mouth eBay all you want, but stop with the personal attacks on her.

Chris's gravatar Chris United States February 22, 2006

Kevin, are you 13, or do you just act like it? Your comments are making you look unbelievably immature. I suggest you shut your mouth and move along to some other site that tolerates eruptions of misguided teen angst before you make a complete buffoon of yourself.

Chris's gravatar Chris United States February 22, 2006

Yeah, you’re “the man”, Kevin. Everyone knows that maturity comes from making lots of money, owning some land, getting to eat lunch with people and badmouthing people on the Internet. Moron. So you live on three fat whopping acres. So what? I live on 13. So you have a shop. So what? I have a 1000 square foot, heated with running water shop too. So you’re self-employed. So what? I am too and make a hell of a lot more money than you think I do.

You have demonstrated beyond all doubt that you’re an idiot with an ego the size of Texas. You’ve easily qualified for my Assclown Club. Welcome to it. You’re not the first and you won’t be the last.

Diva's gravatar Diva United States February 22, 2006

Well boys I am broke with none of those things and no money. I thought we were fighting eBay, not each other. By the way do any of you rich guys need or want a wife smile This is so funny to me.

Chris's gravatar Chris United States February 22, 2006

The whole point of this thread is for people to talk about eBay. In general, it’s stayed on topic, which is nice. However, I couldn’t sit back and let some hothead badmouth a real-life friend. I also couldn’t resist popping his fat head about owning land and being self-employed. smile

I had complaints that were ignored by ebay plus I was charged final value fee’s for items that were never paid for.

Spread the word avoid ebay search the alternatives.

Vortex33's gravatar Vortex33 United States April 14, 2006

eBay doesn’t care about protecting the buyer and any complaint the buyer does make gets pushed aside since eBay isn’t making money off hte buyer.

I just recently had a problem with eBay seller dressed2the9s after doing a BIN (Buy It Now) and paying immediately. I kept emailing them asking about my item (with no response back) and it took them 11 days just to tell me it wasn’t in stock. They offered a refund which I accepted but after another week of asking about the refund I finally got a response that the item had shipped.

Perhaps now would be a good time to point out I needed these shoes for a wedding. In every email I sent them, I mentioned the date I when needed the shoes but they “never got that email”.

I did everything I could. I paid on time (within an hour of doing a Buy It Now). I kept in contact with the seller (10 emails from me and one phone call which they never returned). And I still got slammed by eBay because the seller eventually did ship (25 days after I paid). I should have just filed a Non-Performing Seller and Item Not Received.

Now I am stuck with a retaliatory negative feedback because I told the truth in my feedback to the seller. And a pair of shoes that are useless to be since they were finally delivered after the wedding. dressed2the9s is notorious for leaving retaliatory feedback (which all reads like it was written by a nasty gradeschool kiddy). They sell items they don’t even have in stock and then leave negative feedback claiming it is the buyers fault!

And now they are harassing me about the webpage I created that contains all the emails that I sent and received from them. The truth hurts and I hope it hurts them tenfold!

My wife had her account suspended after 8 years, and 16000+ 100% positive feedback because she was sold purses by a company called Fashion Knockoffs. She stated in the ad that is WAS NOT a designer purse and even who made them. WHAM!! Account suspended, no recourse. Was forced to sign a guilty statement before they would even think about reinstating her account!! What a crock!! Had to send copy of her military ID, driver license, utility bill, UPS account statement with her business name on it, etc… and STILL has not heard back 6 days later after being told they would get back to her in 24-48 hours.

Anyone who has had the same experiences want to join in a class action lawsuit?? Email me if so…
