I hate eBay with a passion right now. In an earlier post, I had mentioned I was looking to find a copy of Oni for the Mac. Well, I did some searching and finally found one copy of it for auction on eBay. That was four days ago. I’ve been watching it every day since then. The bidding never got high, so I saw my chance to get myself a copy of it for real cheap. I logged in with only a few minutes left and kept reloading the page until I saw there was 1 minute left in the auction. I entered in my bid, which would’ve been the winning one, but instead of seeing a “Congratulations! You’re the winning bidder!”, I saw a #$(*@ login screen asking me for my *%(*&# password! I paniced. I entered in my password and hit submit, but instead of submitting my password, it brought me to some dumbass page with a link back to the item! By the time I FINALLY got back to the auction, time was up!
Needless to say I let loose a few choice words. I’m still very pissed about it. I’m getting angry again writing about it. Why did eBay need my %#*&# password if I was already logged in!?!?!
Now I’ve got to go scouring the Web again trying to find a copy. There are no other Mac copies on eBay. I can’t find any stores still selling it. The folks at OmniGroup won’t sell me a copy. So I’m screwed. And I have eBay to thank.

Ebay is like a casino, only amateurs with stars in their eyes, alot of hype with little return.
Be creative and you can find what ebay offers elsewhere
I don’t like how Ebay shows everyone what you have been buying and selling for the last 90 days with its feedback system. What if i don’t want people to know that i like to collect stuffed squirrel scrotems or that i recently bought a self-help book on schizophrenia? There should be a way to keep such things secret so people can’t read these things.
I sold some stuff on ebay hoping to make a few pounds, in a very short time I realised that I was selling at about £2 above trade prices, anything higher would just not sell. Each auction was costing money, most didnt sell, even know they were new and way cheaper than in the shops. I had calculated the minimum cost I could sell at and not take a loss. However I neglected the paypal fees. so I ended up selling at a loss on everything, no one came to my shop, unless I auctioned stuff at stupid prices. All in all. the only people making money was my suppliers, ebay and royal mail. And I was paying to make these people money. The competition on ebay is rediculous. its a buyers market. Selling new stuff on ebay just isnt worth it. If you do somhow manage to make a proffit, someone else who is happy earning £30 a month will undercut you. PS I was selling new legitimate computer equipment. Somthing everyone wants.
ok
ebay sucks, we all know that.
I am a seller on ebay.
I have taken great time and pride in my product. I buy and sell playstations and xbox on ebay. I admit I have to work to get them for a good price so I can sell em cheap. serious amount of leg work goes into getting them even broken ones that I can fix for cheap enough to sell there.
I sold a xbox dvd player the other day, ran into a snag. the buyer(scammer)
emails me, my first day on ebay, not gonna pay you dont really want it anyway. So I make the mistake of thinking ebay gives a ####, oh geez WRONG. they tell me to contact my buyer and work it out, and that I have to wait 7 days before filling for a final value credit. WHY? The buyer(scammer) has already told me he has no intention of paying.
All ebay wants is my final value fee’s. I am the guy that pays ebay’s bills. I am the money they are using to buy up everybody out there with.
WELL NO MORE
I am not gonna sell to their customers anymore, I will give the stuff to my kids before they make another nickel off me.
and the customer support is a fine art of telling you the customer to stick it they have no plan on supporting anything other than their fee’s
Sure e-Bay sucks, but what’s the alternative? Hey, sellers want an established site to sell on and are unwilling to register with a new site and do what they’ve done with e-Bay in the first place….....built a business. There are quite a few sites online now….most of which are going nowhere fast. The problem with free sites to start with…...how will they ever be able to afford the advertising to grow, the staff to offer customer support as they grow and still make a profit? For now I’ll leave you with these thoughts and soon I’ll be back to post a link to a discussion group that you may consider joining to give your thoughts and opinions on the different aspects of what “your” idea of what an online auction should do for seller, buyer, and for the owner/operator of the site. For now…..EV1 have a great week!
I was suspended from ebay for
VERO violation. I sell italian charms, and A huge seller on ebay reports you if you are trying to sell the same charm. the charms were removed and I filed for reinstatement. It took 1 month for them to tell me that they did not received my request with the necessary forms. So, I FAXED it to them. about 3 1/2 weeks later, I get a notice that I had been reinstated. That was on monday, yesterday, wich was thursday, I got a notice that I am permanently NARU’ed for violating my promise not to list infringing items. GUESS WHAT? I had no auctions going. How could I violate anyone’s Vero Policy If I am not selling anything???? I Have sent several emails with no reply back.
I feel like a common criminal for no reason. I don’t like how I feel.
EBAY needs competition. Keep pushing us away ebay, soon, you will be begging us to come back.
Thank you
Just venting.
We all must realize what Ebay and Paypal are all about. They are all about making money. They could careless about right or wrong. The people that makes them the most money is ALWAYS right, and those that don’t are ALWAYS wrong. They advertise fraud protection, but there isn’t any. How could they protect anyone without any sort of quality control? When you buy something off Ebay, cross your fingers and pray that you get what you paid for, or get anything at all for that matter. And when you use Paypal to “safely and quickly” pay for your stuff, good luck getting your money back from them after you hit the “Send” button. Yet, Ebay is still growing by leaps and bounds year over year. In the end, we only got ourselves to blame. We support them by using their services. We grow them into the beast they are by subverting to their haphazard rules. While the title of this blurp is “Ebay SUCKS!”, it is really about me looking into the mirror, slapping myself into the realization that even though I know what I was getting into, I did it anyway. That one bad experience with Ebay and Paypal finally happened to me, but I wonder if I would ever use their service again!
I have registered On
BIDVILLE.COM
And have had great sucess.
Sales are slower than what I was used to at FEEBAY, but, Customer service still treats you like a human being, and the people are very nice.
also, it is free or almost free to list items! You can also set up a store for only 5 dollars a month.
Great place! Lets help make them grow. Greedbay needs competition!! I will never ever BEG to be a member to any site ever again.
I loved ebay… once upon a time! Not anymore! Just a few weeks ago, I discovered that every time I pressed the “pay for all items through Paypal button” and followed through the check out procedures, none of the transactions were recorded as pending or paid. The result: Every time I clicked “pay all paypal items” pending payments would get paid again. Sellers were getting duplicate payments 3 and 4 times for the same item! These payments were coming directly out of my bank account, so for every $50 I thought I was paying, I was actually paying $250 or more for the same item! anyone with limited funds can understand that after the money is gone, NSF fees appear. Some sellers were pocketing the money and others were not getting money at all. As soon as an honest seller notified me of the problem, I explained the probelm to all the sellers and then I tried contacting eBay and Paypal to discover and straighten out the problem. Those of you who have ever had anything out of the ordinary happen on ebay know how pointless this becomes. So far, I’ve gotten the run-around. HOWEVER, an ebay rep sent me an email admitting the problem was technical, but then I got some lame “Ebay 101” instructions that don’t even apply to my problem!
Now, on top of all of this, those sellers who did not get paid through paypal – and who live in the land of lollipops and gumdrops and never have crap happen that’s beyond their control- have given me strikes. And ebay, ever faithful to the seller, has suspended me! Now, I don’t blame the sellers – I would want my money if I were in their shoes, but ebay admits a problem and STILL suspends my account. I can’t even appeal because the unpaid strikes (2 from the same seller) are not resolved! How does a strike get “resolved”, you ask? Only the seller can remove the strike, or claim that it has been resolved! So I have no recourse. this is my 1st problem. My feedback is great, but none of this matters. Obviously, the honeymoon is over and the love is GONE! I still love the concept of online auctions, but I guess I’ve become one of the 80% who doesn’t like to do business with her ass blowing in the wind!Go to www.bidville.com!
If you dont put a picture in the gallery the auction is FREE to post. (Your pic still shows up on auction) The format is easy to use and CS is Very Good! There is a very helpful forum too!
If you want a pic in the gallery, it is only ten cents!!!!
Try It! I sell there!!
Good bye Forever Greedbay…
Also… Word is out that Google.com is starting it’s own Online payment service to rival Paypal…......YAY!!
I know this posting is a little late, but I just found this forum. Thank you Paully for making my day. This posting tickled me pink – TOTALLY!!! This was absolutely without a doubt too funny:

BOYCOT GREEDBAY!!!
Ebay’s poor excuse for customer service’s usual boilerplate reply is to read the user agreement. Well, I did. Then I got suspended. They asked for all my ID to be faxed to them. Then I faxed them all the info they wanted. Then they never replied. However, they did give me a reason for my suspension: “This is just a routine suspension for new users, particularly those selling high priced items or many items.” I had listed TWO items, one an old phone and another a 12 year old Ford! Now can you tell me if that qualifies as high priced or many items? And, Ebay, can you show me WHERE THE HELL it states in the user agreement that you will be suspended if you DARE to sell an old car? Ebay is the single most significant justification for anti-monopoly laws. They have NON-EXISTENT customer service and they just apply whatever arbitrary regulations they feel like whenever they want, whether or not the client is informed of it. To say Ebay sucks is an understatement. EBAY SUCKS MORE THAN A WAREHOUSE FULL OF VACUUM CLEANERS!
I have been buying from ebay for many years and have a rating of almost 400. I m a used/new bookseller. I listed 24 vintage science fiction that was in unread or fine condition. I was hit with 130 bucks for fees. I had a 40 dollar fee that I did not sign up for because I used their turbo lister. They basically said tough as the only fee they re imburse is the final value fee. Now that’s customer service. I have not sold or bought anything since then.
I was a member since 1999 with ebay with 3700 positives feedback and only one negative, which was given by somebody selling similar item to me(he didn’t like my 100% positive). I have just got suspended by eBay for no reason (the usual “associate previously suspended”). i was giving eBay a good reputation by giving a great service, great item(stamps for collector, user id:cdnstamps), high quality, fast shipment, ect… and now i am suspended!?!? they don’t even bother checking my profile before!
But the crooks are still there! it is full of sellers with 100’s of negative feedback still selling, and don’t bother denouncing them, it doesn’t work! But i have faith, somehow, everytime somebody does something bad to me end up bankrupting, so won’t be surprise if eBay gets financial problem by the end of next year (and boy do i wish this). And now a question that i ask myself, it is regarding the “Our records reflect that you (or an associated person) have been previously suspended from our service” does that mean that anyone can actually open an account under your name so you get suspended? another question i ask myself, to re-instate my account they ask for .....This includes purchase records and related documentation
You guys know about that 3 strikes and you’re out rule ebay has. Right? Well my account got suspended with two strikes, and get this, those were both resolved by the sellers. It was originally three BUT one seller complained about me twice initially before we came to a resolution. Ebay states that three unique individual sellers can give you a strike. I only had two! ANd like I’ve said, they’ve forgiven me. I’ve contacted eBay to notify them. And here it is 16 months later and my account is still suspended. What more do these people want from me. FURTHERMORE, I changed email accounts during the past year, and when I contacted ebay a few days ago to see once more about getting my accoount back …... they gave me a crappy reply saying that I must email them from the address associated with my account. So I logged in to my account which is STILL SUSPENDED, and I go to my Ebay to change my email …... the thing won’t let me update my email! I keep getting is this shotty error message saying that my email address has not been confirmed. I had that account for six years! I’ve confirmed every address ever associated with it. I’m still knocking on ebay’s door waiting for customer support to change my email address for me. it’s been sixteen months and I really need to hace my account back. I’m desperate! It’s the only one of my three accounts that I can use the selling feature.
