Well, my sister and her family just left to go back to Kentucky this morning. I took the above picture right before they left. They were here for a week, relaxing and looking around the area for a house. They didn’t find anything that stood out from the others, so they’re thinking of renting at first when they move back here, sometime in the summer.
Kentucky is pretty, but they have no family there. Both Kelly and Missy have family in this area, so they wanted to move back. The only problem is finding jobs. They’re not plentiful right now, especially in this area. Kelly is a very good mechanic who specializes in Chrysler products and Missy is a legal secretary. Once Micky gets out of school for the summer, their plans for moving will shift gears.
To be honest, when they first came down, I felt cramped. When you’re used to being isolated for so long, it’s hard to adjust to having several new people come in all at once. But I quickly got over it, and enjoyed having them here. It feels weird now that they’re not here. I can see why families stuck closer together in the old days. There’s just something rejuvinating about being together and enjoying life together. Growing old together and watching your kids grow up.
I plan on living in this area after I get married, if at all possible (the living in this area part, not the marriage part!). It’s a pretty area during this time of the year. After living in the country for several years, I don’t think I could go back to living in a city of even a suburb.
Anyway, I’m rambling now.
