I was looking at my calendar a few minutes ago, and realized that this site turned four years old on the 21st! I’ve been posting about all kinds of things for four, freakin’ years…
What’s interesting to see is that when I first started, I only posted about 8-10 times a month. Then after a few months, I started posting quite often. One month I posted over 100 times! During the posting “boom”, many of the entries were basically links to interesting articles, or cool software or some other trivial thing. There were some longer posts thrown in there about various topics too.
These last several months, my posting has reverted back to how it was in the beginning. I’ll post maybe 10 times a month now, if that. Part of the reason for the drop is because any cool new software or interesting article is now added to my Linkbox section (which you can see near the bottom on the homepage). I’ve also got steady work now, so I’m not spending several hours a day scouring the Web for stuff to post about.
So I imagine that my future posting will remain about like it has been for the last several months. Hopefully, I can keep the site going for another four years at least.
Speaking of my Linkbox… I just switched it over to display my latest Ma.gnolia bookmarks. So instead of maintaining two separate lists of cool and interesting things, I’ll only need to update one. And if you haven’t checked out Ma.gnolia yet, you should!
Hopefully, I can keep the site going for another four years at least.
A year from now, when you hit five years, will you say, “Hopefully, I can keep the site going for three more years”? Or does the hoped-for future longevity always increase with the current longevity?
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
