FundRace 2004

FundRace 2004 has a lot of information regarding fund-raising for the presidential candidates.  It’s quite interesting to see how the country votes with their money.

The city map shows that a vast majority of left-wing contributors come from New York and Los Angeles (no surprise), and a large chunk of right-wing contributors come from Dallas and Houston (again, no surprise).

What I found surprising is that that my region is a big right-wing contributor.  Just about everyone at the courthouse hates Bush.  In fact, I can’t think of one elected Republican or Independent in this region.  The county sheriff is a Republican, but he stated he was Democrat so he could get elected.  There’s no way he would’ve made it if he had openly claimed to be Republican.

When I did a search of my zip however, most of the contributions went to Bush.  Only a couple went to Clark, one to Dean and one to Sharpton.
