There’s more ice in Antarctica than there used to be 20 years ago according to a report by Claire Parkinson of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. This space.com article on the report says the sea ice season is getting longer in more areas than it’s getting shorter. The study used data from NASA’s Nimbus 7 Scanning Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR) and the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) Special Sensor Microwave Imagers (SSMIs).
