Human life is cheap

This Washington Post article on suicide bombers makes me feel sick to my stomach. In it, the authors say that suicide bombers balance the battlefield between Israel and Palestine. That the Palestinians use them because they can’t afford F-16s. What really makes me sick though, is this sentence:
An operation can cost from $3,500 to $50,000, Shehada said. Even so, experts acknowledge, compared with trying to break Israel’s tough arms embargo and importing M-16 rifles at $5,000 apiece or AK-47s at $2,000 each, the suicide bomber is a cheap weapon.
The suicide bomber is a cheap weapon… think about that. It’s not “the suicide bomber is a waste of a valuable human life”, but a “cheap weapon”. This sentence makes human life about as valuable as an AK-47! Well, we can’t afford weapons, so lets just turn our people into cannon fodder. I mean, after all, they’re just a vehicle for bringing pain to the evil Jews, right?! And Allah forbid, I won’t send myself in there, I’ll send some brainwashed, down-on-their-luck person who wants to commit suicide anyway.
How come the media will NOT acknowledge the fact that the Palestinians aren’t fighting for their freedom, but Israel’s elimination? It’s splattered all over the place by the Palestinians! These are the same Palestinians who danced in the street on 9/11! The same ones who danced in the street during the university bombing a few weeks ago! Why won’t the media acknowledge it? The media seems content to have their fingers up their collective butts and report this as simply a broken people fighting like heroes to create their own nation. What a bunch of crap! Is there no one in the media who has the backbone to report what’s really going on?
They’re just as bad as the politicians who see it all as a big game. No one will acknowledge Yasser Arafat is a freaking terrorist. They know it. I guarantee you they know it, but no one is man enough to admit it to the world. So instead, the politicians and the media ease their guilty consciences by glossing over the truth of the matter. They pat each others’ backs and comment on how open-minded and wise the other is.
No one wants to acknowledge that this war is a horrible thing that should be stopped by the world cracking down on the terrorist organizations in Palestine, crushing the regimes and organizations that support those terrorists and breaking the literal stranglehold the region has on its people. There are hundreds of millions of Muslims in the world. Why don’t they rise up and crush this “perversion” of their religion? They say that the terrorists don’t reflect the true nature of Islam, so why don’t they do something about it? Publicly denounce the terrorists and their leaders. I still can’t believe that not one major Muslim leader anywhere in the world has done this. Actually, I can, but I’m sure I’ll get flamed for saying that Islam ISN’T a peaceful religion as it’s taught these days.
