I received my monitor yesterday, and my PC this morning. I’ve already got it set up and protected with Norton’s, Ad-Aware, Spybot and ZoneAlarm. Plus, my router has a firewall. So I should be ok, at least for a little while.
I’ve got Firefox set as my default browser, but I’ve also now got the infamous IE for PC, so I can make sure my designs work for the unenlightened masses. I will start fixing my personal site design soon in IE PC.
Speaking of unenlightened masses… my mother works at the county courthouse. I convinced her to drop IE and move to Firefox. She already loves it and has deleted her IE shortcut on the desktop. She then told others in the courthouse about Firefox, and now it looks like several other officials have made the switch too. The more that switch, the better the Internet will be.
I also convinced my sister to switch over. It took her all of 1 minute to realize that Firefox was a better browser. Now she’s going to teach her husband to use it.
Unfortunately, the largest number of users to this site are IE PC users, although this month it’s different. There are more Netscape users (Camino, Firefox, Mozilla, etc.), which is always a good sign.
My design is still not finished yet. There are quite a few little things that are annoying that I’m going to fix. And I’ve still got my Resume and Portfolio to finish.
Congrats on your PC, Chris, and thanks for your willingness to spend money for other people’s benefit. I personally won’t need your testing since most of this site looks great in Firefox, but all those who don’t know that browser does not neccessarily mean IE will thank you.
Oh, and make sure to tell Mozilla about your Firefox PR. I am sure they will invent an “enlightenment-award” for people like you!
Keep it up and take care!
