Info On US/Afghani Relations

Silflay Hraka points to several articles on what the US is doing in Afghanistan. I’ve heard a couple of people say the US has abandoned Afghanistan and will abandon Iraq as well. First, the articles pointed to prove that wrong. Second, why would the US get out of a country with oil fields that large? Isn’t that one of the main arguing points for the anti-war crowd? That the US is only in it for oil? So once they have it, why would they leave? You would think that the people against the war in Iraq would at least think through their arguments before opening their mouths.
