The SMCCDI Political Committee in Iran is showing its support of the US and for the victims of 9/11. A notable quote from their letter:
The people of Iran, being the first and largest victims of religious terrorism, murders of September 1988 is one example, has come to the realization that the world coalition against global terrorism is in the best interest of the Iranian People and Iran, and that is the duty of each and every freedom loving Iranian to fight against state terrorism (Hezbolah) and to expand even further the bond with world powers in pursuit of defeating Global terrorism, and to expose those countries and political opportunist such as the European Community and Russia, who because of their interest, defend the Islamic Republic and her leaders. Conversely, the American Nation has to realize that, if the struggle against global terrorism is without imperialistic endeavors and shortsighted opportunism, she has no better friend and ally in the Middle East than Iran and the Iranian People.
I was completely surprised by an ad on TV last night that was from the government of Qatar stating their support for the US and the victims of 9/11. I thought it was a very well done ad and didn’t sensationalize or belittle the 9/11 tragedy.
I was equally impressed with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah’s letter of condolence to President Bush today. He expressed how hurt he was that 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.
I figured that if we didn’t hear something like this in September 2001, we would never hear it at all.
