Lovebox by Groove Armada

Every now and then I come across a song that for some reason really, really appeals to me. There are songs you hear and you think, “That’s kind of catchy.” Then there are songs you hear and you think, “Holy crap! I can’t stop dancing! I gotta hear it again!”

I first heard Lovebox by Groove Armada while kicking the tires on Pandora again, an alternative to Last.fm. I’m not sure what it is about the song that really appeals to me. It’s got a catchy beat, but so do a lot of other songs. It doesn’t really get going until about two and a half minutes into the song.

I think I really like this song because it’s a “happy” beat. It energizes me, if that makes sense. It reminds me of the best times in my life. It also reminds me I’m still young, and am not turning into some old fuddy-duddy. It makes me want to create my own music! It’s that kind of music that will always appeal to you more than your average song with a beat.

Another great song I’m really liking is Pick Up by Bonobo. It’s got a very catchy beat and some amazing jazz flute going on. Both Lovebox and Pick Up can be previewed and bought at the iTunes Music Store.
