I got an email today inviting me to try out the alpha version of Measure Map, a stats program that’s geared more towards bloggers. Instead of giving you overwhelming amounts of information, most of which I don’t care about, Measure Map presents me with clear, easy-to-understand stats on my site.
The interface is clean and very easy to use. The information is presented well. There are some neat Flash-based charts and graphs for various bits of information. And there’s a cool world map that highlights countries people are visiting your site from. If you hover over a highlighted country, it will tell you how many people came from there and what percentage of traffic they make.
I only signed up a few hours ago, so it’s still too early to see how it handles days and weeks of information. One thing that it seems to not be tracking correctly are comments. I’ve triple-checked the code I needed to insert into my templates to see if something is wrong, but it all looks correct. Everything else is being tracked just fine.
As I mentioned earlier, it’s still in alpha so it’s too early to give a final verdict. My first impressions are very good though and I plan on using it quite often.
IE/Win is hands down the most used browser for those that visited my site in the last couple days. Firefox has a respectable 18% though.
Chris, this is Jared from Media Village a long time ago. Just had a random urge to look up your name and came across your blog. Glad to see you’re still putting the genius to work. (I first tried looking for mantisdesign.com but was sorely disappointed by what I saw… knew it couldn’t be you.)
I’ve been doing photography for most of the time since MV, but am currently doing design for a big ol’ church here in Austin. Also just got married.
Just writing to keep contact. If I know of anyone who needs a developer, I’ll send them your way. Here are a few jpegs of a shoot I just finished for the singles ministry here at the church.
(not sure if I put those images in correctly, but you get the idea of where to go) Don’t bother looking at the homepage on my site… nothing going yet except for one of those annoying “coming…” messages. Who has the time to put up a site?!
Jared
I’ve heard of this before. It sounds pretty cool. I didn’t know that the Adaptive Path guys were behind. I really like their work.
