More Bombings

I’m wondering how long it will take before the Iraqi people get sick of the bombings and sabotage. They’re finally getting a taste of real freedom (which is scary when you haven’t had any in a long time), and some bands of Saddam loyalists and foreign asswipes are trying to end it already. I don’t know how the mind of someone who has been under Saddam’s rule ticks, but it would make me seriously angry if others were trying to bring back that evil dictator. Surely this will backfire on the terrorists? I’m hoping it does.
Today I read that the UN headquarters in Iraq was bombed, and the head UN official in the country was killed. He was popular in the UN and looked to be a future candidate for secretary-general. I can’t believe it was only Saddam loyalists who did this. This was a sophisticated bombing and took some money to pull off. There’s already talk it was the work of al-Qaeda.
On top of that, there was a suicide bomber in Jerusalem today. They blew themselves up on a bus full of kids. Islamic Jihad is already taking responsibility for the bombing. My… how heroic. How brave of them. How sickening. People who support bombers like this should have slow, torturous life sentences in jail. By support, I mean the people who help them pull it off. Those who support suicide bombing in general are just idiots.
In better news, I saw the other day that the Iraqi police conducted their first raid without the help of US soldiers. That’s excellent! This should keep increasing until it’s the Iraqi people patrolling themselves. From the video I saw, they did an excellent job.
