More on Henry Ruzin

Henry Ruzin's gravestone

A long, lost cousin got in contact with me the other day.  His name is Clark Ruzin, and he’s the soon to be 16 year old son of Rick Ruzin, my dad’s cousin.  He sent me the above picture of my grandfather’s gravestone at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

The picture was not only nice, it was helpful.  It confirmed to us that he was in the 46th Armored Infantry Battalion.  In my earlier post about him, I had found that picture of a group of men in the 46th, and one of them looked just like Henry.  We couldn’t be sure it was him though, because we didn’t know which battalion he was a part of in the 5th Armored Division.

I was just at that cemetery today. What a coincidence.

Anyway, I was going to send you a copy of that headstone a while back, but never got around to it. Did he also send you a picture of our grandmother’s grave? She is right next to his.

Yes, he also sent a pic of her grave. I would like to see a pic of both of them together though.

I’ll see what I have, and scan one for you.

I think i’m your cousin also! My father’s name is William Ruzin, brother of Rick Ruzin. Clark’s my cousin too!

Hi Ashley, I had no idea there were so many Ruzins out there. I thought we were isolated to Minnesota and Arkansas, but apparently I was wrong.

I think we’re 3rd cousins. William is my great uncle. Where do you live?

I had no idea either! You’re the first that I havent met up in MN. We used to live in WI, but about 6 years ago, we moved to FL. I haven’t seen too many other Ruzins except for a Doctor, a Lawyer and a Marine Biologist. Its always interesting to meet long lost family though.

I think I’ve talked with the marine biologist before. Isn’t he in California at a university there? I don’t know anyone who’s a lawyer or doctor though.

So do you have a Web site as well?

My dad has talked to both of them. And im not too sure on the marine biologist, I know that I saw his name in an IMAX movie one time though, and my dad said something about him. I dont have the skills or money to make a website worth letting people see. But once I get some free time I like to dabble in it a little bit.

Hi to Ashley: I live in Minnesota. I remember your dad, William, when I was a child. He stayed with us for a short while after his brother, our grandfather died in 1955(?).

Bill Ruzin is my Father. I contacted you a long time ago when doing a search for my (our) name. Ashley who has a post on this site is my half sister. Rick Ruzin is my Uncle. This is a very small, strange world we live in!
