More on Standards

Man.  Zeldman’s book is showing me exactly how many bad coding habits I have.  In order for me to make the entire site 100% standards compliant, I would have to go through all of my old posts and change or get rid of tags like <blockquote>, <br>, <b>, <i>, etc.  I also would need to go through all my pMachine templates and remove these tags.  Sounds as fun as nails on a chalkboard.

This looks like a monumental task from here.  What I’m probably going to do is simply stop using those tags from now on.

I have been using XHTML in my pMachine entries since (nearly) the beginning. I hate the BBCode it uses. I use title tags for urls, use and tags, but also tags ans stuff like that.

You’ll have to change some settings in your controlpanel though.

I was wrong.

is allowed in XHTML, just not inline. So I changed the way I enter in a blockquote, and everything validates.

I didn’t know that and were being deprecated. I’ll have to slowly go through my entries (NOT looking forward to that!) and change all those tags.
