Much to learn

I’ve been working with the Mac OS X developer tools the last few days while I’ve been recoding my application Linkbox.  I originally made this a few years back using another developer application called REALbasic.  It was cool, and easy to learn, but made each application larger than it needed to be.  Plus, REALbasic has a very high cost, even to upgrade!  Stupid.

So, when I upgraded to OS X, I saw that it came with all the developer tools you would need to make native OS X apps.  It uses a language called Objective-C that I have never even seen before.  But, I’m picking it up pretty fast and I like it better than REALbasic already.  Apple’s documentation is pretty good, and the developer community is very supportive.

My application should be ready to roll in a few more weeks.  It’s taking longer than normal because I’m learning about all this as I make it.  But it’s looking great so far.  MUCH better than the older version, and has more features.  Plus. it looks gorgeous in OS X, as do all applications using the Aqua interface.
