Music I’m Into Right Now

Some people have a script on their site that automatically shows what they’re listening to at that moment.  I think that’s a little too invasive for my tastes, so I thought I’d just make a little list of bands/artists I’ve been listening to a lot lately.

Crap. I don’t know any of those bands/artists. I must be getting too old.

Been listening to the Beatles for 40 years, no point in changing now…. lol.

Well, none of them are what you’d call mainstream. Cocteau Twins were pretty famous for a while ten to fifteen years ago or so. Phil Keaggy is a Christian guitar player who is insanely talented. He can make the acoustic guitar make sounds I’ve never heard before. He’s even missing a finger on his right hand, yet still manages to play amazingly!

Basement Jaxx is somewhat more well known than the remaining groups because they had a song on the first Tomb Raider movie, at the end during the credits.

Air is also pretty well-known, more so in Europe than here though. Nice music.

Hint, Lemon Jelly and DJ Shadow I discovered through Limbik Frequencies.

Casino vs. Japan and Mojave 3 I discovered through the Hummer TV ads. I went to Hummer’s site, and found out who they were. I went scouring for some of their music, and both have full-length MP3s you can download. Very different styles between the two though.

The most obscure one is Phonophunk. It’s some guy down in Australia. I found his site just surfing one day. His music isn’t even the main part of his site, just a side thing. I heard a couple of his songs and liked them.
