I am bowling in two different leagues here on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I was also part of a summer league. During the summer league, I was having a hard time keeping my average up and eventually ended up with a 173. I just couldn’t seem to find the pocket consistently. My dad told me to try a different line that I had never tried before near the end of the league. Now my average has gone up considerably in the two leagues I’m in now. On Tuesday nights, I have a 182 and on Thursday a 188. Last Thursday, I bowled 11 strikes in a row! 11! Tonight, I bowled 8 in a row on my way to a 256. I couldn’t miss. It would swing out to about the 8 board and come screaming back perfectly into the pocket. The pins didn’t stand a chance. It was a nice feeling. My average tonight was 205. If I keep this up, I could have an overall average in the 190s soon. That’d be sweet.
Hi Julio, I bowl in DeQueen, Arkansas. My averages are considerably better now. My Tuesday night league average is 192. My Thursday night average is 205. I had a 279 game midway through the league. Almost a perfect game. And our house will pay $1000 to anyone who bowls a perfect game too.
Summer league definitely sucks. They don’t take the time to maintain the lanes as well, so the bowling is definitely worse. I think I’ll skip it this year.
Congratulations,
I also am a bowler.Last year i finished one league with a 185 average,( bowl in 3 ) also spared in another league, played 27 games and finished with a 192 average,i think the better average was because,as a spare i had less pressure, and thereby bowled better. About summer leagues,i tried that and found that the bowling centre was not as consistent in the oiling of the alleys making it somewhat harded find my line and my average fell by 15 pins,at the moment i’m back at 183.. Needless 2 say no more summer leagues 4 me, P.S. I bowl in Lasalle (Montreal.) Where do you bowl ?
