Well, I broke down and bought an iPod last night from Apple. I got the 20GB iPod since that will easily be big enough for all my music and important files. I plan on using it for backing up important work files and of course my music.
I had the famous quote from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow added on the back: “Music is the universal language of mankind”. I was going to have something funny or different added, but decided something about music wouldn’t get old after a while.
It should be arriving by Wednesday at the latest. Of course, when it gets here, I’ll be like a little school girl with a new doll. I’ll post some pictures of it, you know… since no one knows what an iPod looks like.
11/1: I received two emails from Apple overnight. The first one was letting me know the dock I ordered with the iPod was shipping via UPSH. What is UPSH? When I try to track it at UPS, it says it can’t find that tracking number. The second email told me the iPod shipped via Fed Ex. When I tracked the number they gave me, it showed the iPod is being picked up from Shanghai, China!! What the?! Is Shanghai where the iPods are made or what? This has me a little worried.
11/1: After some Googling, I discovered all newer iPods are now manufactured in Shanghai. I thought they were made in Taiwan, but that’s changed apparently. I feel better now.
It’s on purpose. I don’t want my email address getting harvested in any way. That said, if you go to the homepage, look for the ‘who?’ section on the right and click my name, it’ll open your mail client with my email address. That email address is encoded, but it’ll show up right in your mail client.
Hey Chris,
This has nothing to do with iPods, but what’s your e-mail address? I can’t find that anywhere on your site. Is that on purpose, and if so, wouldn’t it make sense to have some sort of form that people can use to send you an e-mail?
