My World of Warcraft Toons

My WoW toons

I’ve got a little collection of World of Warcraft toons. I ought to. I’ve been playing off and on since early December last year. They are on four different servers: Thunderhorn (PvE), Darkspear (PvP), Dunemaul (PvP) and Elune (PvE). I’ve made more toons, but these are the ones I’ve kept and still play every now and then. From left to right:

Erucolindo - Level 45 Night Elf Hunter. This was my very first toon from back in December. He would’ve been one of the first batch of hunters to reach level 60, but I got bored with him and my guild. I haven’t played him consistently since early January, but I can’t bring myself to kill him off.

Uruloki - Level 17 Troll Shaman. My second toon. I made this guy because I was bored with my hunter and the Alliance in general. I only played him for a couple days and got bored with him too. I’m not sure why I dropped him so quick, but I’ve kept him around in case I want to try my hand at being a Shammy again.

Goewyn - Level 16 Night Elf Warrior. One of two female toons I’ve started. I created her a couple months ago, and got bored with her as well. I don’t know what it is about a warrior, but they’re boring as hell to play in my opinion. Others love them, but I get sick of them in a couple days.

Micron - Level 26 Gnome Rogue. This was my first rogue to play and my fourth toon to create sometime back in March. I hadn’t seen too many Gnome rogues, so I thought I’d make one. He was fun, but I became distracted from him by another toon I created that I liked even more.

Nizur - Level 21 Human Paladin. My third toon to create. I don’t think I could’ve chosen a more boring combination. Sure it was really hard to kill me, but I hit like a girl and couldn’t keep anyone from getting away from me in fights. I ended up dropping this guy after several days. Don’t know why I still have him actually.

Ffand - Level 15 Undead Priest. My first female toon. It’s amazing how many players helped me out. It can only be because I was a) a female toon and b) a priest. Everyone loves priests in WoW, and there weren’t too many of them on Dunemaul at the time. I didn’t play her much because of the next toon.

Kenan - Level 58 Tauren Druid. He is the most fun to play out of all my toons. He’s extremely hard to kill since he can heal himself and easily escape from a bad situation. I was told by nearly everyone I grouped with that I was an excellent druid. He’s a restoration spec druid which made it pretty easy to find groups for high end instances. I haven’t leveled him to 60 because his interface uses old mods I no longer use. It would take me a while to redo it all again. I’m lazy, I know. I haven’t played him in almost three months.

Wushu - Level 29 Gnome Warlock. This little guy can dish out some damage. He holds the record for biggest take-down. At level 25, I beat a level 30 mob. I can’t even do that with my rogues. He was also a lot of fun to play, but I decided to create a toon I had been wanting to make since early in the year instead.

Unoriginal - Level 31 Undead Rogue. This is my current toon and I’m liking him a lot. I named him “Unoriginal” because there’s got to be around 300 million Undead rogues on every server. I can see why they’re a popular combination though. He’s much more enjoyable to play than Micron, my Gnome rogue. Plus, I enjoy playing Horde toons more than Alliance toons. There are too many Alliance players on every server. Elune is the second-worst Alliance:Horde ratio server. It’s 4.5:1. I think it makes it all the more fun to be Horde that way.

So that’s my collection. If you’ve been wondering whether I have a life or not, this post surely answered your question.  There’s not much to do around here and hardly anyone my age, so this is one of the few things that I enjoy doing in my free time. Plus this is the only game I’ve ever enjoyed playing for more than a couple months and I don’t plan on dropping it any time soon.

Great comic online comic strip you might want to check out called “PVP.” It’s by Scott Kurtz and funny as hell. I met Kurtz at a 24 hour comic book session. The guy was a blast. As for the 24 Hour Comic, it’s the invention of Scott McCloud. Basically it’s a bunch of artists/writers who get together, usually in a comic book store, and put out 24 pages of their own original comic in 24 hours. It’s masochistic and fun. Thank God it only comes around once a year or I’d be dead. I’m not much of a gamer, but writing and drawing a story seems to be kind of like that in a small way.

Yeah, I read PVP every now and then. I have a comic Dashboard widget on my Mac that pulls in several comics, that being one of them.

I was going to ask you if you still drew a lot. I couldn’t imagine you not drawing actually. Do you have a site with your stuff on it? If not, you should. Or use Flickr or DeviantArt to showcase your stuff.

Yep. I still draw and paint and am now knee deep into photography as well. Mostly nudes ( Dallas girls are not shy ) but I’ve also shot some nature stuff when I went camping in Colorado. If I get a model release on the photos I was thinking of posting them on a site, but my friend ( who is a DOLL ) is leery about having her picture on the net. ( Most of the photos are uses as bases ( is that the plural of basis? ) for paintings.) J. Tabares…Parenthesis Man!!!! Speaking of comics, there’s another one that is gorgeously drawn called “Liberty Meadows.” Not very many people out there drawing comics who can actually DRAW. Hey…can you do animation on yer fancy computers?

I’ve seen Liberty Meadows, but my comic gatherer can’t get it. Maybe the latest version can? I’ll have to check that out.

Yes, computers can do animations. Have you tried Painter? It’s a computer program that a lot of traditional artists are going gaga over. You should check out Deviant Art. There are some VERY talented artists who showcase stuff there. I really like Artgerm’s work. His work is stunningly good. And it’s almost all done in Painter on a computer. He uses so many different styles, and is good at all of them.

Actually, I meant can YOU do animation? How realistic can your personal drawings be? I’m working on a project and may need your help. It won’t be for some time, but I like to have some sort of indication if what I write is possible. For the record…a movie. I wrote a screenplay that may get optioned by an independent film company. ( Or rather, I’ll get story credit, the story is being re-done in a different way by my partner ) So now that I have bowed out of the actual screenplay writing after the first few drafts, I am concentrating on my own screenplay for a movie I personally will helm. For fun and “how can he—?” look up DVXUSER.com ( I think that’s the name of the site. )

No, I don’t have the software to do animations. All my stuff is geared toward the Web, since that’s my job.

That’s cool you’re writing screenplays. When you become a famous Hollywood screenwriter, remember your old friends, ok?

Ahhh…another day of working late. Oh…one COOL website: www.thepeoplescube.com Satire at its finest. It’s a good time to be conservative. ( yes, I’m conservative…how things change. )
