New ExpressionEngine Plugin Manager

I’ve now finished an early version of the new ExpressionEngine plugin manager. It’s in alpha testing now, so don’t ask for the files.

Some new features include:

A dynamic list of the latest plugins from the ExpressionEngine Plugins site
Easily install plugins from the latest plugins list (ZIP and TXT files are automatically handled)
Easily uninstall one or more installed plugins
Plugin description and version are shown in main page now

I’ll eventually add version checking and automatic handling of GZIP and BZIP2 files, but that will be later after I make sure everything else is working right.

You can see a screenshot of the new manager below.

I’m working on it as I write this. Well, actually if I’m writing this, how can I be working on it at the same time? Anyway… you get the idea.

The first release of it won’t have all the planned features, but it’ll still be a step up compared to the original manager.
