North, South Korea Exchange Fire

Yikes.  There are reports that there was a small exchange of machine gun fire between some North and South Korean soldiers at the demilitarized zone.  There were four shots fired from the North.  A minute later, the South responded with 17 shots and then a verbal warning not to continue firing.

I’m not sure why the North would do this other than to try and portray itself as ready to fight if it’s provoked.  I’m not sure if this technique will help their cause at all though.

I really wish someone would just take out Kim Jung Il.  He’s a cancer on the North Korean people.  The sooner he is gone, the better that place will be.
