Oscars

Well, was that an Oscar haul or what?!  Peter Jackson and crew hauled in 11 Oscars tonight.  That ties the record set by Titanic and Ben Hur, I think (Why Titanic won so many, I’m not sure).  And it became the third film to sweep every nomination.

I thought there were a couple good speeches and a couple loser speeches.  Some were long winded and some were short and to-the-point.  Not much political talk, which I’m sure made ABC breathe a little easier.

Overall it was a decent show and was actually the first Oscar awards show I’ve watched in its entirety.  Mainly because I wanted to see how many Lord of the Rings took home.  All I know is I would hate to have my movie nominated in any category Lord of the Rings was, because it’s a sure sign you were going to lose.  I’m glad that they won so many Oscars though.  They all deserved it for a truly amazing epic that will be around for a long, long time.

Actually, kind of a sidenote. Tom Cruise must’ve had one hell of a good reason to leave Nicole Kidman.  Did she not look amazingly beautiful?
