PETA’s Letter to Arafat

Eugene Volokh points to a letter I would NEVER have believed was real. This has to be one of the most idiotic things I’ve seen in a loooooong time. PETA has taken upon itself the immense burden of bringing peace to the Middle East. Not between the Jews and Palestinians… no, that’s ok if they kill each other in horrible ways. PETA wants peace between the Palestinian suicide bombers and mules. Look at what Ingrid Newkirk writes:
I am writing from an organization dedicated to fighting animal abuse around the world. We have received many calls and letters from people shocked at the bombing in Jerusalem on January 26 in which a donkey, laden with explosives, was intentionally blown up.
All nations behave abominably in many ways when they are fighting their enemies, and animals are always caught in the crossfire. The U.S. Army abandoned thousands of loyal service dogs in Vietnam. Al-Qaeda and the British government have both used animals in hideously cruel biological weaponry tests. We watched on television as stray cats in your own compound fled as best they could from the Israeli bulldozers.
My… how touching. In other words, it’s ok that you blow yourselves up while in the process of mutilating and killing Jewish men, women and kids, but God forbid you kill a donkey!! Notice also how she casually puts the US, Israeli and British governments on the same footing as Al-Qaeda and suicide bombers. This woman is an idiot! Full blown, 100%, grade A bonehead.
