Last night I was talking with a friend from Massachusetts about my various adventures in Switzerland. As we were talking, I realized how much I missed it and how beautiful it was. I got on the Web and started looking for pictures of the places I had been. I’ve spent most of my time in a little town on Lake Thun called Einigen, close to Spiez. I actually found a picture of the place I spent Christmas ‘96 in. It’s an amazing place. Very, very old… ceilings so low, my head almost touches! It was a great experience, one I’ll never forget.
I was staying with some friends named Lizzi and Amaris. I’ve known them since ‘95, and we’re still in touch with each other. I miss having friends like them around. I miss being able to relax in a gorgeous place and talk with great friends.
Below is a picture of where I stayed. I’ve circled the exact chalet I stayed in. This isn’t their home. Their home is behind the trees just to the right of the chalet. The chalet is on their land though.
The right arrow pointing down is where Spiez is. It’s just over that finger of land sticking out into the lake. The left arrow is pointing to where a cool old church with a really tall steeple is. It’s just out of the picture on the left.
So anyway, that land is where I’ve stayed several times, in every season. I think my favorite is spring time though.
