Royals Coach Attacked by Two Fans

Baseball certainly didn’t need this to happen.  Two “fans”, a father and his teenage son, ran out of the seats and attacked The Kansas City Royals’ coach.  The coach hadn’t provoked them in any way.  In fact, he had his back to them.  Both looked like real winners from the pictures, so they deserve to get some jail time for aggravated assault.  Luckily the coach wasn’t hurt much because the entire Royals team tackled the attackers.  It could have been much worse, since a pocket knife was found on the ground after the scuffle.  A player said he saw the knife fall out of the pocket of one of the attackers.

What goes through someone’s mind who does something like this?  What good could attacking a 54 year old defenseless coach do?  Obviously this guy wasn’t a great role-model father for his son.  I wish the Royal players could have had a few more minutes with the attackers before security moved in.  But I am glad everything turned out OK.  No one was seriously hurt and the losers who attacked him will be behind bars.
