Saddam Captured!

What a major relief! What a boost for the Iraqi people! Saddam Hussein has been captured in a little town about 18km from Tikrit. He was in a tiny hole in the ground, and apparently didn’t put up any resistence, despite wearing a pistol. He looked very tired, old and worn out. He had a huge grey beard and dishevelled hair.
The US didn’t immediately release the news he was captured until they had done some DNA tests on him and confirmed it was him. When the video tape of Saddam was shown to the press, Iraqi journalists jumped up and started cursing him and calling for his death. One even broke down into tears since he finally got to see Saddam look like a caged man. The journalist had been tortured by Saddam twice and had wanted to see this day for a long time.

The news first broke at 4:20 AM, while I was at a rest stop in northern Missouri. I was just about in need of a big cupp of black coffee to stay awake, and after hearing that news, me and my wife were wide awake.
