Safari Breaking Records

It seems that Apple’s new browser, Safari, is breaking download records for Apple.  Phil Schiller said that 20% of all of Apple’s downloads yesterday were Safari (translates to 300,000+ downloads in 24 hours).

I have to admit, I’ve been using Safari exclusively since yesterday and the ONLY thing I miss is tabbed browsing.  I’ve figured out the way Safari handles bookmarks, and it IS pretty easy to use and understand.  I didn’t understand how it worked yesterday when I commented on how difficult it was to organize bookmarks.

I’ve been reading a few posts from other blogs about how it doesn’t display pages correctly, but I haven’t had one problem with messed up rendering.  Moveable Type users can’t use it because it displays their new entry form all messed up.  I have no problems with pMachine.  Safari DOES have a few hiccups with some advanced CSS, but the sites that use it aren’t very common.  All in all, Safari is an excellent browser for being a beta version.
