It looks like some of the Iraqis in some southern towns where the coalition forces have taken over are getting upset that there is no aid coming in yet. I don’t blame them for questioning us either. We promised them aid, so they expected it would be right away.
I’m not sure what they’re telling them, but I would tell them that it is on the way, but that we need to totally secure the ports and harbors before we can safely bring them their aid. I don’t know if they’d understand or believe me, but that’s what I’d tell them. I’d also give them as much as I could from what we already had with us.
