Stephanie’s Moved Out

With some thunderstorms rolling in to send her off, my little sister has moved out of the house. She’s not moving as far as my other sister, who lives in Kentucky. She’ll be moving a couple hours north to Van Buren, Arkansas.

It’s good that she’s leaving here. She really needed to get out of here and start over. She, like me, had nothing really going for her here. At least in Van Buren she’ll have a better chance of getting a good job, meeting new people, making new friends and so on.

She has a really close friend who has been living in Van Buren for the past few years. Her and her husband have a place there and offered Stephanie a room with them. That will save Steph a crapload of money and give her some breathing room for finding a job.

With Stephanie being so close, it won’t be that big of a deal to drive up there on the weekend and see her, so that made Mom feel a lot better about seeing her go.

So now it’s my turn to get out of here. Actually, it’s well past my turn to get out of here. I’m saving up my money and working to get out of as much debt as I can before moving. Now that work is steady, it shouldn’t take too long. I just need to start looking for a place.

It doesn’t seem like it was nearly 23 years ago, when Harry Davidson and I stopped by after work, to see her for the first time on the day she was born.

Best wishes to her in this adventure.

Yep! I remember Harry’s kids, Joel, Justin and John were over. Jared wasn’t born yet. Mom had Steph at home with Judy as a midwife. That took guts.

I remember playing outside with Joel and them and then someone came out and told me to come look at my new sister. I ran inside and saw this tiny, little bundle in Mom’s arms with tiny, little hands sticking out.

It’s amazing how fast time flies.

I forgot all about Judy being the midwife. That explains why Harry wanted to ride with me over there, so he could ride home with his family.
