There is a NY Times op-ed piece by Thomas Friedman which is well written. It’s called ”Tell The Truth, and expresses some qualms with the Bush administration over Iraq. I don’t agree with every point in the piece, but agree with one major point. The Bush administration isn’t very good on an Iraqi strategy. I think Bush and Co. did a good job of putting pressure on the international community. Otherwise, I seriously doubt we’d be this far along in the process of removing Saddam. Where I think Bush and Co. have erred is to assign a US general to run Iraq until an Iraqi government can be put in place. This is a HUGE mistake and will most undoubtedly cause problems for the US. I REALLY hope Bush sees this as a mistake and changes it. If this is their strategy for a post-Saddam Iraq, it stinks.
