I’m sure most of you are getting sick of all the “stupid” Tengwar stuff. Sorry. I’m absolutely fascinated by it, and have been spending almost all of my free time lately learning how to read and write it. I’m thinking of posting a translation every now and then, and seeing if people can figure it out. It’s a way for me to practice, and get experts to give me feedback on whether I did it correctly or not.
This is my first lengthy Tengwar transcription of an English paragraph, which is in a practice Reader. It’s done in English Common Mode:
In English, it reads:
In winter, he walked in mid-afternoon, the warmest time of the day. In summer, he was up before dawn, walking before the air got as hot and wet as a crock pot. In winter, he saw the school buses deliver children to the street corners. In summer, he saw the papers getting delivered.
OK… no more Tengwar stuff for a while. Not until I get confident enough in my abilities to start posting more examples.
Hi Laura, like I mentioned in a previous comment, it’s been too long since I translated anything into Tengwar for me to feel comfortable sending you anything. You should visit Torsten Renk and ask him. He’s very good at it.
Good luck!
Hi, I’m getting a ring made for my son for part of xmas and he would like it to have his name translated in the same writing as the lord of the rings ring. (sorry i should know the name for it, been into loads of sites and muddled up now!!) I would appreciate if you could forward me how it should look for the name Christopher McConnel if you can. Thanks a lot, Diane
