I tried a trick from the O’Reilly article I posted about earlier, and this is the picture I got. Not bad. I remembered I had a tiny Canon mini tripod from my photography class during college days. It works great! Now, if the sun will cooperate with me, I can try some other tips from the article.
another idea, i came up with when dealing with very slow shutterspeeds: use the self-timer.
taking those handheld shots of the burning of zozobra in my gallery, i coudn’t press the shutter release lightly enough to prevent movement in the camera. so i set the self timer, aimed and waited. my little kodak has what has to be the longest blasted self-timer … but it worked. those shots are much sharper.
now that you have photoshop, you might want to visit a certain site …

check the selection of actions in the pulldown.
call it a little secret between you and me. i’ll be buying some of these photoshop actions, soon.
