Test Post From Ecto

I’m trying out the OS X blogging client called Ecto.  It’s pretty nice.  I’ve never been able to get comfortable using a desktop blogging client, but this is good enough I may try it out for a while.

What’s really cool though is that ExpressionEngine now supports the Blogger API.  That’s what is allowing me to post from Ecto.  This is part of EE 1.2 which is in beta phase right now.  I’ve already found a couple bugs with it, but Rick and Paul are great about fixing these things very quickly.

Anyway… just trying Ecto out to see if I like it or not.

We’re thinking the same things this morning. I was playing around with Ecto as well. I want to try MarsEdit.

Tried that one yet?

That’s the fastest anyone has commented on a post. I think it was only up for a minute or so before you commented!

I haven’t tried MarsEdit yet, but I was going to. Have you had a chance to mess with it yet?

hey, gotta keep on the ball here!

I haven’t had a chance to play with ME yet. I installed the trial over a month ago and now I can’t run the trial anymore. So I have to email them and ask how to fix that. fun.

I have tried MarsEdit and while there are not as many “features”, it seems far more stable and easy to use. A bit cleaner interface too. I suspect both are more powerful with the MetaWeblogAPI though, so I cannot wait until those slackers at pMachine write up an API for that one.

Yeah, the guys at pMachine are big time slackers. I don’t know how they get anything done around there. I’ve been told they sit around in hammocks, drinking Bacardi and mocking their customers.

Seriously, the Blogger API is cool to have, but it’s limited. I will still be using my browser to post. I can’t wait to see the MetaWeblog API.
