Texas Wins National Title!!

Texas LonghornsThat was one of the best football games, if not the very best, I’ve ever seen! I was standing for the last several minutes of the game. There was no way I could sit down, I was too amped.

Last year’s Rose Bowl win for Texas over Michigan was the best I had seen up until tonight. As good as Vince was in that game, he was phenomenal in this much more important Rose Bowl game. Like the sports commentators were saying, Vince Young owns the Rose Bowl.

I was telling my dad all the way up to the game that Texas could beat USC. The media was completely disrespecting Texas though. Everywhere it was all USC this, and USC that. I knew it was going to be a close game, but not that close. I had predicted 31-24 Texas, but USC’s offense was definitely awesome and made it much more exciting. That said, Vince Young made the USC defense look like junior varsity players. The guy looks like he’s not moving that fast but he gains 7 or 8 yards on every carry! He had 200 rushing yards for the game and 467 total yards, a new Rose Bowl record!

Longhorns players celebrate winI have to admit, when USC was up by 12 with only five minutes left in the game, I thought Texas had lost. Then they step up and pull the rug out from under USC.

One major blemish on the game was the absolutely horrible officiating. Missed calls. The time clock running when it shouldn’t be. The refs mic not working for almost the entire game. I mean come on! It’s the national championship game and that’s the best you can come up with?

Overall though, that was an absolutely amazing football game that I will remember forever.

Not to mention the texas touchdown that shouldn’t have been. That was a potentially game changing officiating error that never should have happened. Was a great game though.

Yeah, Vince’s knee was obviously down right before he pitched it off. It was so obvious on replay that I have no idea why the touchdown wasn’t revoked. I still think Texas would’ve scored that touchdown. They already had momentum in their favor and were moving the ball in a hurry.
