The Color iPod Arrived

I mentioned a couple days ago that I ordered my free, color iPod from freepay.com after waiting several weeks for them to get rid of their old B&W iPods. On the site, they mentioned that it would take a couple weeks, at most, before I got it.

Well, they were off by quite a bit, because it arrived today on a bright yellow DHL truck. Now either I experienced a time-warp or they were just covering their butts to make themselves look good. I’m guessing it was the latter reason, but the first reason would be cooler. When the DHL truck drove up, I immediately knew it had to be the iPod since DHL rarely delivers here.

The iPod box is smaller than the older 4G iPod box, but the color iPod is slightly thicker than my old 20GB iPod. Which means my Apple dock no longer works. Lovely.

The color screen is quite clear and bright. It makes using the iPod more enjoyable. I like seeing the CD artwork while I’m listening to my music. I also like how much nicer looking the calendar and address book are. Color makes the already nice iPod interface that much nicer.

So overall, I’m quite happy with it. And you can’t beat the price!

To celebrate getting my new iPod, I got some more music for it at iTMS. My favorite of this bunch is Love Stuck Haze.

• Long Way Down - Cause and Effect
• Pictures and Indian Summer - John Beltran
• So Come Voce - Thievery Corporation
• Love Stuck Haze - Peas
