Chip Foose‘s latest hot rod is called the Impression. And it certainly leaves a lasting impression!
It’s a 1936 Ford roadster which has over 4000 hand-made, one-off parts. It took Chip seven years to complete! It has received every major award, including the Don Ridler Memorial Award, given to the outstanding car from the Detroit Autorama, immediately followed by Best Rod at the Fresno Autorama, and the Goldmark award at the Boise Roadster Show. The only one it hasn’t won yet is the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award, which will be given out in January 2006. I can’t imagine this roadster not winning it.
Everything on this roadster is amazing to look at. Even the undercarriage, as seen on the left, is impressive to look at. In fact, it’s so nice, I would be afraid to drive it anywhere.
I love the colors Chip chooses for his customs. They’re always subdued, high-quality looking colors, unlike a lot of the crap you see on modded cars today. If I ever had a custom paint job on my car, it would be in colors similar to this roadster. Probably two-toned, but really subtle.
The amount of attention given to the details is also what sets Chip’s customs apart from the others. They really are rolling works of art.

Hi.
My name is André Soler, I am Designer of cars in Brazil and I am beginning my career.
Here in Brasi we accompanied the cars of FOOSE and when I saw Impression 2 he in the hour brings me the will of doing cars, it is that happened because he has a singular and only drawing with their flowing lines that you/they give same movement when the car is stopped. It is for his/her fantastic concept and with simplicity in his/her aesthetics that if it turns in an art piece because he gets to express the idea of the Chip and that it felt when he/she made the first scribbles and like this doing in their lines the most fantastic thing than a designer can do, that it is to create dreams and desire.
Because it is this that he created in the people Dream of one day to have a car as Impression and desire of having a car like Impression was.
Chip in Brazil is their admirers.
