I’ve taken the plunge into the Ruby programming language and bought the second edition of Programming Ruby, or the “PickAxe” as it’s known in the Ruby community. It looks like it’s going to be very, very helpful as I learn Ruby.
I had already thrown together some basic scripts before I received the book just by looking at examples on the Web, but there’s nothing like having a nice hard copy next to you as you burn up hours learning a new language. I may even start posting some stuff I’m working on, just to get feedback. I am nowhere near comfortable sharing my hatchet-job scripts yet though, so that will be for the future.
If anyone else has some good tips or sites related to Ruby, please share them.
